About This Gallery

The New York City High Line & 9/11 Memorial 2016 Gallery features photos taken in New York City. The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above New York City Streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Saved from demolition by neighborhood residents and the City of New York, the High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design. While walking the High Line, I really enjoyed capturing the diversity in the architecture of the surrounding buildings and how the park ends at the water’s edge. On the same day in 2016, I captured the 9/11 Memorial & Museum grounds. Visiting this solemn, quiet, place in the heart of downtown, I will never forget the image and sounds surrounding the Memorial Pools, the new, towering One World Trade Center building, the magnificent Oculus, the Survivor’s tree and the architecture of the buildings surrounding this sacred place. I was so inspired and humbled by my visit that I added the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to my Choose-A-Charity Program at my company, to contribute to the ongoing memory of those we lost that day.
